January 2009

January 11, 2009: Invasive vine attack near Georgetown with the CCT
Join us with the supporters of the Capital Crescent Trail to free the mature trees along the C&O Canal from the stranglehold of invasive vines. We've got a patch of wisteria that our saws are itching to get!

January 17, 2009: Break in the New Year (resolution) at Turkey Run Park
Come burn off those holiday calories with us near Fort Marcy, part of Turkey Run Park--we should still have some large viburnum and honeysuckle shrubs to cut down!

January 18, 2009: Invasives removal at Great Falls, MD
It's the winter season, and what better time to warm yourself up than an afternoon cutting giant Bittersweet vines in the woods at Great Falls? We've got a good patch of vines, you've got some free time, and it's MLK weekend! Take a few hours off to join us--and eat some brownies for your hard labor!

January 22, 2009: Historic House Clean-Up at Nassawango Creek Preserve
Please join us on this winter's day to help clean-up the newly acquired historic house at Nassawango Creek Preserve.
