The Conservancy’s Adopt an Acre® program is raising funds to to help protect the Appalachians. Adopt an acre for yourself or a friend, and help protect one of the world's most beautiful and diverse habitats.
The event will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2008 with a VIP reception beginning at 6pm featuring insights from Conservancy experts on the most pressing international, national and local environmental issues.

"Going green" calls for a whole new level of thinking today. The Conservancy's Gabe Cahalan, a land management steward in Maryland, offers a new idea: run your car on vegetable oil. You'll be able to pick up your carryout and fuel at the same place, while also decreasing your impact on the environment.
